There’s no excuse for eating poorly in Vancouver.

Full stop.

The only excuse for struggle is simply that deciding where to go for your next delicious meal can become a daunting process. But don’t worry – we’re here to make it even harder.

Whether you’re from Vancouver or you plan on visiting in the future, here are 6 restaurants and cafés set to open in 2016 that we’re already excited about.

Jam Café
If you don’t support the concept of all-day breakfast we probably can’t be friends. And for all you west coast breakfast aficionados, there’s a new all-day breakfast spot set to open soon. Jam Café was a huge success in Victoria, so its owners decided to open up shop on the mainland. The café will take over the old Café Medina venue at 556 Beatty Street.

R&B Tap Room
It’s no secret that Vancouver is a trail blazer when it comes microbreweries. So we were extremely excited to learn that R&B Brewing Co. is opening a new watering hole later this February. As reported by Scout Magazine, the new spot will be 800 square ft and sit 60 guests. The R&B Tap Room will be serving a variety of pizzas, salads and charcuterie boards, as well as 12 beers and two wines on tap. Located at 54 East and 4th Ave, this is the kind of place we could spend all day in.

Nice Vice Creamery
In a perfect world we would all live off ice cream. Unfortunately, many of us can’t indulge on ice cream due to dietary reasons (sigh). But one kick ass ice cream company found a way to meet the needs of all ice cream lovers by creating a delicious plant based ice cream that has absolutely no dairy added. Nice Vice Creamery will be opening up their newest ice cream palace later this month at 1022 Mainland Street in Yaletown.

Tractor Foods
Vancouverites are known for being extremely health conscious – from practicing yoga on the regular to eating extremely healthy meals. So we were excited to hear that Tractor Foods is opening its third location this spring in Van’s Olympic Village. Tractor Foods’ primary focus is serving conscious operations in a cafeteria style setting. Residents living in the Olympic Village will definitely love this new addition.

Meet
There’s no better way to spend a Friday evening than hanging out at a restaurant that revolves around socializing. Due to the success of Meet’s first location, the vegetarian comfort food eatery is set to open its second restaurant in Gas Town in the coming months. Meet focuses on providing guests great prices for comfort foods and crafty drinks in a social environment. I’m definitely looking forward to trying their Vanilla Pear cocktail which involves vodka, vanilla liqueur, simple syrup, pear juice. Cheers to that!

Bows & Arrows Coffee Vancouver
What started as a family run business in Victoria has turned into a well known business that’s passionate about brewing “perfect coffee.” As reported by Café YVR, the new Bows & Arrows shop is set to open at 4194 Fraser Street in the next few months and will offer guests both a café and restaurant.
