Elevator Pitch: Describe your business in a nutshell.
I own and manage two fitness studios where we offer a variety of services from pre-natal fitness, to fitness competition training, and everything in between. Our daily focus, however, is men and women of all ages, and overall health and fitness. I aim to provide a very friendly and welcoming, intimate atmosphere where people can feel comfortable working towards their goals.
Why did you start your business, what was the inspiration?
My inspiration came from my desire to help others. I had recently adopted a healthy and active lifestyle and wanted to share my knowledge with others.
What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis? The most challenging part?
The best part about what I do is helping people feel comfortable in their own skin. The most challenging part of what I do is to help people work through old habits or problems that they may have been carrying for years. Things like this can play a major role in lifestyle, and working through them is most of the battle.
Where do you see your business going in 5 years?
I see my business growing but not in size, in numbers. The idea behind my business is to keep small and comfortable environments, however I would like to see more and more of them going up.
What does success look like to you?
Success to me is happiness and loving what you do.
What is the most memorable milestone in your career?
My most memorable milestone was making the cover of Oxygen Magazine. That was my goal from the very start of my journey and to achieve it felt beyond words.
Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Believe in yourself. I didn’t, and it almost caused me to lose focus on my dream. Luckily, two very important people believed in me and pushed me in the right direction.
Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is that important to you?
My charity of choice is Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue. Stray and abused animals are a very large problem where I live and I do what I can to help give them a home.
What is Notable to you?
Loyalty and honesty.
Blackberry, iPhone, Android, or Other?
How do you keep active, energetic, and vibrant?
Its my job to stay active and in shape, by eating clean and hitting the gym on a regular basis. Daily dog walks help too!
