They came. They left. And we’re here with the memories. The first-ever Notable Awards driven by Lexus will forever be one of Notable.ca’s greatest milestones. Hosted by the charming Melissa Grelo (co-host of CP24 Breakfast), the event saw over 500 of Canada’s top young professionals and industry tastemakers, alongside noteworthy Canuck celebs – like W. Brett Wilson (host of Risky Business, formerly of Dragon’s Den), Keshia Chanté (Juno-award winning singer/songwriter), Aliya-Jasmine Sovani (MTV News, 1 Girl 5 Gays), Kary Osmond (Best Recipes Ever), Grace Lynne Kung (InSecurity), Mike Smith (aka Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys), Andy Bell (host of BNN’s Commodities and The Pitch) – out to celebrate the achievements of the Great North’s YPs.
Thirteen winners were bestowed one of the swanky totems, doled out in recognition of their accomplishments living the 360-degree YP life – someone who focuses not just on work life, but social and philanthropic/community lives as well. During the ceremony, the audience waited with bated breath each time the finalists were announced, clamouring with anticipation to find out the first-ever winners.
Before the awards presentation, attendees sipped on Rémy Martin cognac and Tromba Tequila, clinked glasses of Casillero del Diablo wine with bottles of Molson M and marvelled at the Notable blue drink. Maialino Enoteca Italiana‘s beef tartare stunned guests with its delicate texture and truffle flavour, while Fishbar‘s white anchovies were scrumptiously simplistic. Hardy’s Hogtown Brasserie brought the perfect mac n’ cheese to the table, and Williams Landing pulled out the stops with their pulled pork sliders. Cafe du Lac‘s crepes were savoured alongside the bistro’s Quebec duo (sugar and butter tarts, respectively), and Le Dolci‘s cupcakes were bite-sized pieces of heaven.
Throughout the evening, the dapper and gussied up crowd made their way to through media wall for photos, and posed around Andrew Richard Designs‘ beautiful showroom, while mingling and making new acquaintances – meeting the colleagues they never even knew they had. Once the awards were complete and the tokens of greatness given out, the party began, and the night faded into the early morning hours…
