If you’re a dude looking to step up your shaving game, we know just the place for you.

Corey Shapiro is the co-owner of the Notorious men’s salon in Montreal’s Saint-Henri neighbourhood and the brains behind the barbershop’s newest over-the-top offering.

For a cool $1000, you can get a golden shave complete with gold-infused cream and a 10-karat gold razor blade, custom made for the barber shop.

Apparently, the cream takes on a “charcoal-type property” when it’s infused with gold, says Shapiro. And as a bonus, client’s get to keep the razor as a souvenir. Once the shave is done, the barber will dull the blade and turn it into a keepsake necklace.

“We wanted something that was a little more ostentatious and memorable than any other barbershop in the world,” Shapiro told the Toronto Star.

Shapiro says he got the idea for the luxury service when he bought gold flakes to garnish his sushi for extra flavour. That’s when he had his lightbulb moment – why eat the gold when you can infuse it into shaving cream?

Now you might be thinking, who in their right minds would pay for something like this?

Well, according to Shapiro, 14 people have shelled out for the fancy service since he set up shop two-and-a-half years ago.

However, if you’re looking to get in on this luxury shave action, you’re out of luck – at least for now. They’ve run out of razors.

We must say, after hearing about that $2 million dinner in Singapore, this $1000 shave pales in comparison. Regardless, all you one-percenters out there have fun with this one.

In the meantime, we’ll stick with our disposable razors and save up our hard-earned cash for literally anything else.
