From Charity Gala to the Pub: The Perfect Shoe

For young professionals (YPs) across the country, a typical Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening can start early and end late, often filled with multiple events, establishments and even different groups of friends. Of course, there isn’t time to rush home to change outfits and footwear for each new door you step through in the course of an evening, so a shoe of versatility is a must. Case in point: Say you are committed to attending your fiancé’s charity gala, but your once tight-knit group of university friends is meeting for reunion drinks (and a joint celebration of multiple engagements, promotions and births) at a downtown pub that very same evening. You have to do both, no question about it. And you have to look good doing it; as the better half of the one of the charity ball chairs, all eyes are on you, and your photo could very well end up within the party pages of a respected newspaper or online publication. As for the late night beer at the pub, taking a little time on your appearance is a must (especially when meeting people you haven’t seen in ages) – but you don’t want to be that person who is too overdone for a pub…that can be awkward. ALDO’s Rosarior and Bouaflea are the perfect options for an evening that takes you from the charity event to the nightcap, whether dressing up or down.

For the YP Male
ALDO’s Rosarior lace-up shoe fits the bill as a go-to choice for a multiple appearance-making evening. Refined enough for a suit and a top-tier venue, the shoe is also unassuming enough to grace the floors of a pub, and a complement to any look. In other words, they are a guaranteed staple piece to your wardrobe. The Rosarior is leather, with a textile lining, stitched detailing and a slightly cushioned flatbed, keeping your feet comfortable throughout what is surely a long evening. Unobtrusive and classic, the wood-like sole gives this shoe a vintage feel and a bit of character. The shoes come in a variety of colours – black, cognac, navy and light blue – each of which give the shoe a totally different look and feel. Price: $110 CAD.

For the YP Female
For the YP lady, ALDO’s attention-grabbing Bouaflea can be dressed up for a hot-ticket charity function, but is not too precious for the pub afterward, with the shoe’s ankle strap and two-tone design offering a little more fun than your typical stiletto. It’s finally the season for bare legs and the Bouaflea pairs nicely with a cocktail dress, office-appropriate skirt, or a more casual, fun dress fit for the event and drinks after. The shoes come in bone with black (pairing nicely with gold for a dressier look at the gala), and black with a very summer-appropriate and eye-catching pink. They are sure to turn heads and inspire compliments. Price: $100 CAD.

With multiple locations throughout our cities, ALDO offers a safe go-to for those evenings when there’s fun to be had, places to be, causes to support and friends to cheers to the evening with.
