Sara Graham
Sara Graham had the travel bug from birth - she was born and raised in Bermuda, after all. When she moved to Toronto to attend Ryerson University, she found herself hooked on the city’s cultural mix. And her CV to date has been just as diverse as the food offered in its neighbourhoods. After earning a business degree, Sara found herself a marketing role in the fashion industry. This led to a term in publishing as a production manager, then a brief stint as as editor before she launched her very own loungewear label. For three years, she took Sister Underwear far and wide, but decided to return to the magazine world when offered a role as editor-in-chief. Fast forward to late 2009, about the time her entire immediate family decided to relocate to New Zealand, she concluded it would be best to make a career out of traveling, and set up shop as a freelance writer/editor. In 2010, Sara got involved with Artbound - a nonprofit that harnesses the power of the arts in support of Free The Children - and now acts as their director of communications. Sara currently covers the topics of beauty, fashion, food, and international destinations for various magazines and web sites, as well as edits her own blog – www.thetravelpresse.com. You can follow her on Twitter @thetravelpresse.

So you have been to New York for business or leisure or shopping, right? (We will deal with the latter in Part 2). But have you been with an adult that has never seen the Big Apple before? I have. Twice. Highly recommend as, for me, it made the experience feel like my first time...

Ah, Guatemala, I can’t wait to get back to you; the people, the food, the scenery that’s as hypnotic as anything I’ve ever experienced, a close second to the day-dreamy isle of Capri, Italy. But love letters and comparisons aside, Guatemala is for those who take their chill seriously...

Last November, I embarked on a whirlwind 7-day tour of the Holy Land. The itinerary was, in a word, ambitious. I saw more than a normal human could possibly process. And while I could have spent the entire time in Tel Aviv, or Jerusalem for that matter, I’ll offer up the hits and what you don’t want to miss in these two fascinating cities...

With its pristine streets and slick supermalls, it may be easy to write Singapore off as lacking soul. However, upon closer inspection, you will find that this city-state packs incredible heat (I’m not just talking about the weather) and a diffusion of global culture that lights up every corner...
