Bacardi Patio Launch at the Ritz Carlton

Bacardi and the Toronto Ritz-Carlton Hotel kicked off the summer in high style with a citrus-themed launch party of DEQ on Thursday, May 24th. The celebration marked the new collaboration between Bacardi and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, which welcomes the warmer months with the new “Casa Bacardi” at their DEQ lounge and patio. Starting last week, DEQ will refresh YP tastebuds every Thursday with exclusive Bacardi liquors and signature cocktails throughout the summer.
The summer-like weather was perfect in the lush oasis patio, which was packed with a stylish set of mojito-drinking YPs and many regular faces on the Toronto event scene. Drinks included Bacardi mojitos served with real sugar cane, daiquiris, Mary Pickfords and mini tropical smoothie shooters. Toronto DJ Dan Buckman of BelloSound provided sultry Latin-infused musical selections to complement the plentiful conversation. The Canadian Opera Company’s very talented Ambur Braid treated the crowd to an engaging performance accompanied by a saxophone and drums.
A nice alternative to the craziness of King West, DEQ offers a laid-back lounge and patio fusion, with two bars, a roaring open-air fire pit, a freshly planted mint and herb garden, and a great view of the city including the CN Tower and Simcoe Park.
