Once a Bully Herself, Nicki Minaj Stands Up for Bullied Kid in Heartwarming Instagram Post

It looks like Nicki Minaj may have learned a thing or two after being called out as a bully.

The rapper posted a video on Instagram in December in which she publicly mocks an older woman on the street from her car in Miami Beach, Florida. It didn’t take long for backlash to surface. The incident also inspired the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Miami to release a statement regarding the incident, saying, “Nobody would make fun of a cancer patient, and mental illness is an illness like any other.”

Whether it was a case of poor judgment, a lack of understanding on Minaj’s part or indeed a case of blatant bullying, she seems to be covering her tracks (or at least trying to make up for it).

Now, the hip-hop star has taken to Instagram to standup for a bullied boy – the son of her fifth grade teacher – on Instagram. When her former teacher Liz Smith-Breslin posted a heartbreaking Instagram video with her son about the bullying and harassment he was enduring at school, Minaj shared a message for the boy.

Dear Quinn, from the moment I met you (yes, the day u ran away from me b/c my pink lipstick scared you😩), I just knew you were on the road to greatness! Not only were you as cute as Tom Cruise, but you were smarter than Albert Einstein, & a better actor than Meryl Streep 😩☺️😉(ok so maybe that one was a stretch, lol let’s face it no one will ever act better than Meryl. Anyway, I’m so proud of you for being so brave. Your mother changed my life as my fifth grade teacher & now I get to see her little Prince grow up and take on this world, head on! Anyone bullying you is simply just intimidated by your GREATNESS & POTENTIAL. One day I’m going to buy a ticket & come & watch you acting on the big screen😍😍😍😍. Remain positive sweetheart, Aunty Nicki LOVESSSSS YOU!!!!!!!! 😍😘🎀💕🙏🏽 @lizsmithbreslin
