TV Star and Model Maripier Morin’s Montreal City Guide

There’s no better way to take in a new city than through the eyes of a local.

Especially when that local has unparalleled access to the hottest restaurants, bars, cafes, and everything else you’d never find on the map they hand out at your hotel.

A metaphorical key to the city, you might say.

That’s why we enlisted the help of TV star and model Maripier Morin to show us what really makes Montreal such a special city.

Morin has already given us a glimpse into her personal life – now, she’s revealing where and how she loves to spend her precious moments of ‘me’ time.

What’s your favourite part about Montreal in the summer?
The festivals! There’s a reason they called it the “City of Festivals.” FrancoFolies, Jazz Fest, and Just for Laughs are just a few that stand out. I love the vibrant energy that radiates from the city. People become alive again in the summer.

What’s one thing everyone should do during winter in Montreal?
Hide! Stay in and cook.

Saint-Catherine is home to everything I need – especially the Michael Kors store in OGILVY. Window shoppers beware: I think I leave with a new must-have every time I stop by.

What’s one of the most under-appreciated parts of Montreal?
Verdun, which is a neighbourhood along the St. Lawrence River. It has a lot beautiful green spaces and there’s something special about being along the Canal Lachine.
